So with the sun in short supply I decided that I would do some jobs around the home that have been waiting patiently to be done for a while...Starting in the bathroom...
The picture on the door...
Some of my dried lavender above the window-(keeps flies away)
A charity shop find from last year- above the bath.....
Two pictures.....
My soap and White Musk collection- I love both!.....
Another bargain- this canvas cost £1!.....
The tiles used to be beige with brown swans- yuck.....
Bath time now do we think?.....
I still have a few 'finishing touches' to do this week but all in all I am happy with it, the main job still to do is make a curtain for under the bath but I cannot find any lavender/botanical style material so that will have to wait...
Well after all this activity and MORE rain I thought I would carry on and do some jobs in the sitting room.....it is quite Scandinavian themed and is red and white all year- not just at Christmas!
The Love Wall....
The canvas in the middle was a gift from a dear friend who knows that I have a thing for hearts and love the Scandinavian look so she very thoughtfully gave me the canvas for my birthday but it has sat in the craft room since waiting to find a home.It looked nice when I put it up but a bit bare so I thought I would mirror the theme and put some of my heart collection around it.....
I also love angels.....and hearts.....
And doves.....and hearts.....
My little dresser ...I have to admit to keeping the fairy lights up all year....
More hearts and a lop sided photo- I was sober honest....
After all that I thought it was time for some r and r so a lovely friend and I decided that we would get together but rather than go out and be tempted to spend money we don't have, we would do a 'swapshop'
As she is incredibly knowledgeable on the subject of herbs and as I am growing, drying and learning all about them she brought along a wonderful selection of herbs for me to pick out and she left with a little selection of hearts (surprise surprise!) and a lovely Jim Shore figure that she collects- so cake was eaten and we both ended up with lovely things and no money was spent!
All labeled and on top of the dresser.....
So many interesting ones from good old lavender...
To Calendula, Chamomile, Sandalwood and White Sage.....
We enjoyed it so much that we are going to do another one at the end of August with a few more people, we will all take along things that we make or sell and swap them ...no money changing hands and hopefully I will start my 'Christmas Shopping'....(I know- I can hear your cries of anguish at me mentioning Christmas in July!!) But QVC are having an entire weekend of Christmas Shopping this weekend which is when I usually start putting things away for presents but as we can't afford QVC this year it will be 'SwapShops' n' Charity Shops' ....
Warm Wishes for a Wonderful Weekend,
