Too much of a good thing....

Oh dear - it can no longer be ignored! A love of being at home, baking and cooking has finally caught up with me, I have to face the truth.....I am not the shape I should be!! Too much of this:

 Homemade carrot cake.....mmmmm.....

And not nearly enough of this..

Uurghh.....

Has left me feeling a bit like this:

Hee Hee.....

But seriously I may not be quite that yet but it is time to wake up and smell the muffins, I mean  the coffee....so I have signed up to:

Now I am a real foodie so dieting is something that has always had me running for the hills - well a gentle stroll more like - ANYWAY.. having looked at the various ways of losing weight and thinking that none of them are for me - sins, tablets, no solid food??? I thought that WW seemed the best for someone who likes food and cooking and hates diet 'food '.  I have joined online as I can't quite face the idea of meetings, though I am sure they are great for some - just not me.

While I don't want to bore any of you lovely bloggers I will be posting my experiences and hopeful weight loss each week - so wish me luck!!

On another weight loss note, my sister lost 10lbs 7oz this week, giving birth to my first Niece!

I think I will stick to losing weight with WW!! Less painful.....

But Lots of love to Sis,Daddy and Baby xxx

P.S.:  I won't now be attending the Homemade Home Fair in Exeter on May 22nd as I had a bit of an accident weeding a steep river bank and have hurt my wrist quite badly (I thought exercise was good for you!) but I will hopefully still go to see what the lovely Sal at Sals Snippets will have on offer!

Warm Wishes for a Wonderful Week.

Have a Happy Week....

Hello I hope that you had a good Easter Holiday and that everyone got home safely before the volcano did its thing! And let's hope that anyone stranded gets back safe and sound..

We have had a wonderful break and the weather has really been on our side here in South Devon- some days have been like high summer- wonderful! So while we have been relaxing, we have also achieved a lot. We have done a few car boot sales- keeping on with the de-cluttering..and a stand at Topsham Market with less than 12 hours notice...oooh..what to take??

I quickly made up some lavender bags and bagged up some lovely soaps...

And I had a few of my Friendship Teabags cards left so popped some fresh teabags in them...

So we managed to get a few bits together in time..
Other than that I have been potting up a few tomatoes and the herbs are loving this weather so I need to start using them!Has anyone been watching 'Grow Your Own Drugs' on BBC 2? I have only found it this series but am really enjoying it and intend to dry and use my own herbs and flowers this year- any comments or advice gratefully received!!

Here's wishing you all a ...

...week ahead!!

Scatter Kindness...

Well how thrilled am I? The winners of my Easter Giveaway have both been in touch to say thank you for their goodies (the third had to go to the US so hasn't arrived yet) and they are both happy ladies! They are the lovely Faerie Nuff and Kissed by an Angel  and have done posts on their blogs ...

It is very rewarding when you take the time to do something for someone and they appreciate it! I could get quite addicted to sending lovely things to lovely people!! I feel very fortunate to have this little blog bubble to keep in touch with some very lovely, kind people - particularly when life is challenging...I really appreciate the endless positivity, support and advice that many bloggers share - I don't always comment  on all the blogs that I visit but it is heartwarming to read them and how generally upbeat they are - even when someone is having a difficult time.

So along with my Daisy pledge which I am STILL sticking to and enjoying (I have had some great car boot and charity shop finds) I pledge to do the above!! Yes SMILE but also Scatter kindness wherever I go.....I am going to do my very best to spread positivity and warmth every day.....

So on that note - Have a very Happy Weekend!

Happy Easter...

Well dare I say HAPPY EASTER to you all ???

Easter Dresser...

My goodness I think the old farmers saying about March coming in a lamb and leaving a lion is pretty true just at the moment!!The gusts of winds were so strong yesterday that my garden umbrella on the front patio finally gave up its job of sheltering the plants!! Then just as I was manhandling the poor broken thing down, the heavens opened - soaking me and all the plants!Luckily my tomatoes, sweet peas and geraniums are all on the kitchen window sill but the herbs and lavenders have had a real soaking!!
So after all that I decided a nice Easter breakfast was in order today..

Breakfast Bliss...

I really do hope that DESPITE the weather you all have the opportunity to relax over Easter with your loved ones...

And Have a Happy Easter weekend!
