Autumn Blessings.....

Hello! Well it is all change here in Devon, it seems that with the new school term beginning  the first leaves on the trees are beginning to fall.....

And Autumn breezes are beginning to blow...

This is my favourite time of year, I have found myself  'nesting' and generally getting ready for the Winter, tidying the sheds-( what a job!!) sorting out goodies for the winter markets, making sure the cupboards are all tidy, filling the pantry with flour, raisins and baking ingredients and generally looking forward to warm suppers and cosy evenings...

I have been growing  herbs over the summer and am now drying them and reading all about how to use them in foods, teas, soaps, shampoos and medicines...

It is wonderfully interesting and rewarding....but I still have so much to learn! A lifetime of learning ahead I think....and a new career interest??

I hope that the summer has treated you all kindly and I send you many.....

Rose and Geranium Heaven....

Last weekend I helped out a dear friend who had a stand at a 'Mind Body Spirit' Fair; it was lots of fun and there were some really interesting stands and goods for sale - wonderful books, handmade lovelies, jewellery ,crystals etc but I wanted to tell you about one stand that I found, run by a lovely lady who lives nearby in Totnes.....

KITTY OF DEVON
I sadly did not take my camera so you could see her pretty stand but she also has a website:

She sells her own handmade products- all completely natural, I could have easily bought everything there but as you know funds are limited so I bought this:

It smells HEAVENLY!!

As funds allow I will definitely be back to try her other products and hope that you do too...

This is not Kitty's soap but she was selling ones that looked just like it - so pretty.....

Next was a little treat while doing the dreaded Supermarket shop - I am really not a fan of huge supermarkets but as we are all feeling the pinch I know they are a necessity (anyway we try to only go once a month and then buy fresh fruit and veg locally - but I digress....); I have seen these in this particular store before but haven't felt able to justify the cost; but this time they were ridiculously reduced so I snapped them up....

Oh My Goodness do they smell good!!!

So bath and bedtimes around here at the moment are wonderfully fragrant !!  And with all the beautiful Spring weather we are having at the moment I have really needed a good soak in a bath of an evening, as I have been Spring Cleaning like mad!!  I have done both our outside sheds, the cupboard under the stairs, the back patio has been cleaned, front patio cleaned, wall painted and a new potting bench sorted out and some herbs potted.:

An old dresser bottom cleaned up and an oil cloth on the top...

 Et Voila - a potting bench !!!

Too early for my Geraniums yet-  I ADORE them in all forms....

I will have to content myself with pictures of them until it warms up a little more...

Hope that the sun shines on you wherever you are...

Warm Wishes for a Wonderful Week..
